In this article we’re going to talk about the importance of using quality MAC Makeup Brushes but first there’s a very important Basic Makeup lesson.
If you’re a beauty and makeup enthusiast who enjoys experimenting with makeup then you probably already know all about MAC. Maybe you’re the one who is 1st in line at the MAC Cosmetics Outlets to pick up their latest ltd edition products. And, like many women you may have a drawer full of makeup that you rarely use. You may even have spent $100′s on top quality products but you’re hesitant to throw any of them away because you’ve got some much invested. But once you discover what’s lurking in your cosmetics drawer you may think twice about keeping your old makeup.
Did you know that traditional Makeup is a breeding ground for bacteria? If we did a test of your cosmetics results would most likely show bacteria growing on your lipstick, your eyeshadow, your blush, your concealer and more. This bacteria is the same kind that causes pink eye, strep-throat and numerous other bacterial infections. It can also cause you to break out and develop rashes and other blemishes. So have I got your attention? Is it worth a pause in todays discussion of Makeup Brushes to learn a little about Basic Makeup safety? I hope you think so. Here are some Basic Makeup Tips when it comes to staying safe and healthy -
- Always avoid using fingers to apply makeup. Your fingers can transfer germs and bacteria to your makeup. This is wear our discussion starts to relate to Makeup Brushes. Always use them and clean them regularly.
- Take a moment to sharpen your eyeliner and lip-liner every time you use them. Obviously do this before application. Sharpening removes the old part which may contain bacteria. It will also give you a fresh look.Apply the same technique to your lipstick, blush and makeup powder. Just use a clean tissue to wipe off the old top layer.
- Clean your Makeup Brushes regularly. Yes, using Makeup Brushes is an important step in protecting your skin and keeping your cosmetics clean and bacteria free. But, that only happens if they’re being cleaned regularly. Spot clean after every use, you can find brush cleaner at your cosmetics store that will do the job. Then do a deep-cleansing every couple of weeks or even weekly depending on how much makeup you use.
- It’s tempting but stay away from store test products. You may think it;s fun and a cheap way to try something out before you buy but think about how many women have used that tester before you. Sure they provide disposable applicators but how many people really use them? Now if you really want to try before you buy then take a moment to wipe away the top layer first and of course use the disposable applicators provided.
- Keep lids on all your makeup products and make certain they fight tightly. If you lost a cover then just get rid of that makeup – it’s not worth the risk.
- Get rid of your old makeup and clean out your makeup kit or drawer on a regular basis and I’m not talking once a year as a New years resolution. Do it at least once a month. Remember all of your makeup has a shelf-life. Basic Makeup Lifespan:
- Mascara – 3 months; Cream Makeup – 12-18 months; Lipsticks, Eye-liner, Powder Products – two years.
MAC Makeup Brushes Q & A
Q – How do ’Gosh’ brushes compare to MAC Makeup Brushes?
I have a couple MAC makeup brushes and I’m thinking of getting some new eyeshadow brushes. I know MAC quality is top but I’m wondering are Gosh brushes as good?
MAC means excellence without question. We haven’t tested gosh but Elf Makeup brushes would not be comparable while Sigma Makeup brushes could be considered quite comparable to MAC. In fact they even use the same numbering system so it’s easy to mix n match MAC with Sigma. You can throw them all in your MAC Makeup Kit and you won’t skip a beat!
