Airbrush Makeup

Airbrush Makeup is quickly becoming a known and respected way to apply makeup. The process was first created in the 19-80′s when some clever individual in the professional makeup industry observed the fine art of airbrushing and realized it could be adapted and utilized to apply makeup. This makeup application technique involves using an airbrush powder by a small compressor to apply makeup by spraying it onto the skin. The compressor forces air air through a small tube where it passes over special airbrush liquid makeup. The liquid makeup is picked up in the air much like paint would and is evenly sprayed on using a waving motion. At first airbrush makeup was only done by a trained beauty artists but today airbrush systems are now available for home use and anyone can quickly and easily learn how to do it.

At first glance it looks like a lot of work just for putting on makeup, but after you’ve tried it you’ll find it’s completely worth the effort. Apply your makeup with  an Airbrush has advantages over traditional makeup application. Probably the greatest benefit is that the makeup won’t crack or show creases in your skin.  It’s also flexible and heat resistant. In our ‘Reality TV’ society airbrushing has become very popular for making up presenters and ‘actors’ so that they appear real on High Def TV’s.

Applying foundation with an Airbrush truly creates a flawless Sheer Cover look that can’t be replicated by hand.

Airbrush makeup kits may not end up in every woman’s bathroom but they are definitely getting popular particularly among women who are really into makeup and like to entertain or attend formal events. These kits are available to do airbrush makeup at home and courses which teach you the art are now available in a variety of cities. For the best results it’s a good idea to get some professional training as doing it yourself can be frustrating and results in poor results. Unfortunately many people will get an Airbrush Makeup System for Christmas but won’t bother investing the time or money to learn how to use it properly. Many will likely just become another gadget collecting dust under the bathroom cabinet.

Prices are coming down but still the biggest reason you don’t see every woman applying her makeup with an airbrush is the price of the equipment. Kits can cost a considerable amount of money and it’s important to get a quality machine – a cheap system will just give you cheap looking results.

Airbrush Makeup Q & A

Q – What’s the difference between an airbrush for makeup and a normal airbrush? They look the same.

A – An airbrush used to apply makeup is not made for paint – makeup is a much higher grade and a finer product so the airbrush has to be specially designed to use these fine delicate products. Yes, the application of makeup is an art but it’s nothing like art done with a regular airbrush. A regular airbrush (like for painting models or canvas) allows more paint thru the nozzle and does not require the pin-point accuracy of apply makeup.
